Gatlinburg, TN

Gatlinburg movers for cabins, chalets and condos

Switchback roads, one-lane bridges and a driveway that drops off the side of the mountain. We plan the move around the hill.

Moving in Gatlinburg is a different job

What makes a Gatlinburg move hard is usually where it's going, more than what you own. Chalet Village, Ski Mountain Road, Cobbly Nob and the roads off Highway 321 are steep and narrow, and plenty of cabin driveways weren't built with a moving truck in mind. We're about 15 miles away in Sevierville, where cabin moves are a big part of the work, so we ask the right questions before moving day.

What we ask before a Gatlinburg move

  • Can a box truck turn around at the top, or does it need to back down?
  • Is the driveway paved or gravel, and how steep is the last stretch?
  • How many steps from the parking pad to the door, and are they outdoor stairs?
  • Is it a rental with guests checking in the same afternoon?

If the answers mean the big truck can't get close, we bring things down in smaller loads or carry them farther, and that's in the quote from the start.

Rental cabin owners and managers

Gatlinburg has hundreds of nightly rental cabins, and they need furniture moved too: new beds and couches before the first booking, worn pieces hauled out between guests, a full refurnish when a cabin changes hands. We can work to check-out and check-in times, and take the old furniture away on the same trip with junk removal.

Timing around the Parkway

The Parkway through downtown Gatlinburg backs up most weekends and all summer. For moves that have to cross it, an early start is the difference between a smooth day and two hours idling at a light, so we'll usually suggest one.

“Excellent moving company. They were prompt and took great care with our personal belongings. Treated our belongings and property with respect too, didn’t scratch a thing in our home or anything that was moved.”

Gatlinburg moving questions

Can you move a cabin that's up a steep, narrow road?

Yes. Steep and narrow roads are normal Gatlinburg work. Describe the road and driveway when you call, and if the truck can't make the top we'll plan smaller loads or a longer carry and include that in your quote.

Do you work with rental cabin owners?

Yes. We move furniture in and out of rental cabins and can haul away old pieces on the same trip, timed around guest check-outs.

How far is Gatlinburg from your base?

About 15 miles. C&R is based in Sevierville, so Gatlinburg moves are local moves for us.
