Long-distance moving

Long-distance moves out of East Tennessee

One crew loads your house in Sevier County, drives it, and unloads it in the new state. No hand-offs to a stranger's truck.

State to state with the same crew

The printing on the side of our truck says "Local and State to State Moves," and we mean the second half. C&R is registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation for interstate household moves under USDOT 4173936, which you can look up yourself on the FMCSA website before you book anyone.

The people who wrap your furniture in Sevierville are the same people who carry it into the new place. One recent job took a customer's mother from Sevierville to Austin, Texas. Her son, Dave R., wrote that the crew "paid extreme attention to detail on ensuring my mother's precious items were well taken care of."

Moving family from a distance

A lot of long-distance calls come from someone who isn't the person moving: an adult child sorting out a parent's move, or a sibling three states away. That's fine. Beth M. coordinated her sister's move between two states without being there, and wrote that Christian "made it all so easy." She filled out the form online and he called her back quickly.

If that's your situation, tell us who will be at the house on loading day and who will be at the other end, and we'll keep everyone in the loop by phone or text.

Big, awkward and boxed: still goes on the truck.

How a long-distance quote works

We need four things to price it: where you're starting, where you're going, roughly how much is moving, and when. A walk-through of the house helps for bigger homes. You'll get the quote before anything is booked.

“I was out of state coordinating a move for my sister from one state to another. I was a bit intimidated by the logistics, but Christian made it all so easy. I initially filled out a form online and he contacted me very quickly.”

Long-distance questions

Are you licensed to move me to another state?

Yes. C&R Moving is registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation for interstate moves, USDOT 4173936. You can confirm it on the FMCSA's public company lookup.

Can I arrange a move for a parent or relative?

Yes. Customers regularly book moves for family members from out of state. Tell us who will be on site at each end and we'll coordinate with them directly.

Do you pack for long-distance moves?

We can. Boxes that ride for days on a truck need tighter packing than a crosstown move, so many long-distance customers have us pack the fragile rooms at least. See packing and unpacking.
