Packing and unpacking, done by the crew that moves it

The whole house, or just the kitchen, the china cabinet and the garage you've been avoiding.

Why have movers pack

Packing is usually the slowest part of a move, and it's where most breakage starts. A box packed loose in a hurry is the one that rattles on the truck. When our crew packs, the people who load the truck already know what's in every box and how it should ride.

You don't have to hand over the whole house. Plenty of customers pack their clothes and books themselves and leave us the kitchen, glassware, framed art and lamps.

How packing works with C&R

  1. We look at what you have. Rooms, fragile pieces, anything valuable or oddly shaped, and how much time we have before moving day.
  2. We plan it. Which rooms get packed, what materials it takes, and whether packing happens the day before or the morning of.
  3. We pack. Dishes and glass get wrapped individually, lamps and electronics get their own boxes, and furniture gets blanketed at loading.
  4. Every box gets labeled. Contents and destination room are written on each one, and you get an inventory list, so unpacking starts in the right rooms.

Labeled boxes get loaded by room, so they come off the truck in the right order.

Unpacking at the new place

Want help on the other end too? The crew can unpack the kitchen, set up beds and haul the empty boxes and paper away, so you aren't sleeping in a maze of cardboard the first night.

“Excellent moving company. They were prompt and took great care with our personal belongings. Treated our belongings and property with respect too, didn’t scratch a thing in our home or anything that was moved.”

Packing questions

Can you pack just part of the house?

Yes. Partial packing is common: usually the kitchen, the dining room and anything fragile. Tell us which rooms when you ask for a quote.

How do you pack fragile things?

Plates, glasses and decor are wrapped one at a time and packed tight so nothing shifts in the box. Framed art and mirrors travel on their sides with padding, and boxes are marked fragile and loaded where they won't take weight.

When do you pack, the day before or the day of?

For small homes, packing often happens the morning of the move. Bigger houses usually get packed the day before so loading starts on time. We'll recommend one when we quote.
